It was the first time O’Neill had broken the 20-minute mark for the distance.

Eoin O’Flynn regained Leamington C&AC’s Ted & Doris Trophy, following up his second place in the four-mile run through St Nicholas Park with victory in the 12-mile cycling time trial.

The road run attracted 30 competitors, with athlete Callum Hanlon securing the win in 22:26 and Natalie Bhangal the leading female in 25:26.

Significantly, neither of these athletes took part in the cycling element of the event, allowing O’Flynn to follow up his run of 23:15 with 29:55 for the bike.

Pierre Guern (27:02 run, 31:08 TT) was second, with Tristan Warren the best athlete in fourth (25:34 run, 36:55 TT).

The best female finisher was Anouk Molliex (29:19 run, 34:53 TT).
