Nottingham AC’s Spencer completes a Long Marston half-marathon hat-trick
Spencer finished in 1hr 12min 24sec to finish well clear of second-placed Ampthill and Flitwick Flyers athlete Terry Stanley (1:21:29).
Kenilworth Runners’ Rod Goodwin, using the race as part of his London Marathon preparations, recorded a negative split to finish 74th in 1:51:45.

Hide AdThree Kenilworth Runners took part in the 10k on the same course, with Warren Bell the first to finish, coming home an excellent fourth in 37:48, less than a minute behind the winner Tim Jones of Abbey Runners (36:57).
Bell was followed by Dave Ramus, who also had an excellent race to finish seventh, just eight seconds outside his PB in 38:43.
Jess Wakeling finished 143rd overall in 1:00:35.
The 5k was won by Coventry Godiva Harriers James Parrot in 16:51 and the event raised £4,718 for the Leamington-based Kids Run Free charity.
Caroline Whitehouse was the lone Spa Strider taking part in the Saucony Cambridge Half Marathon at the weekend where she recorded a time of 1:41:48.

Hide AdThis followed on from her previous week’s personal best at the Silverstone Half of 1:37:14.
Whitehouse was joined in Northamptonshire by fellow Striders Hartwig Busch (1:29:12), Jo Kirby (1:32:11, 11th in category), Nick Adams (1:34:27), Greg Harris (1:34:41) and newcomer Daniel Fleming (1:54:18).
In the Tunbridge Half, Spa Striders’ Felix Langley finished 32nd in 1:22:45, with clubmate Charlotte Everard scoring a PB in 1:35:31, while at the Droitwich Half, Lucy Burnett finished in 1:39:56 for fourth position in her category.
