A convincing victory over Kernow in the first game followed up by narrow victories over Curve of London and Unknown set them up with a clash for ninth place against Bristol.

With the Plate trophy at stake, Lemmings led early on but Bristol came back strongly and the game was tied at 9-9 at the end of normal time.

However, a turnover gave their opponents the disc and the Lemmings were unable to regain possession, allowing Bristol to secure a sudden-death 10-9 victory.

Devon went on to win the tournament, with Birmingham Ultimate third overall.

Lemmings’ ladies’ team were also in action in the Women’s Nationals in Coventry.

After slipping to an 8-5 defeat against Bristol in their opening game, they also suffered defeats to eventual winners Dazed and fourth-placed finishers Leeds to leave them 19th going into the knockout stages.

An impressive 8-1 win over Hyde Park’s Discie Chicks set up a final game against Guildford Ultimate.

The match was nip and tuck until the final minutes, with Guildford maintaining their composure to win 7-5 and leave Lemmings 18th overall.
