Corby proves
an able
stand-in

Kenilworth hosted the county Inter Club Team Championships with 23 clubs entering teams of five players.

Veronique Lintin, who has had a very successful season, was a late withdrawal due to injury forcing first reserve Jackie Corby to step in at short notice.

Corby teed off in very poor visibility due to early morning mist and play was then suspended for 45 minutes before conditions improved.

Undeterred by the delay, Corley proceeded to card an excellent round of nett 67, the best individual nett score of the day.

However, her fine effort was not enough to lift Kenilworth into the team prizes, with Corby, Maggie Smith, Alison Seymour Mead, Margaret Wright and Toni Shirley finishing a creditable fourth in the nett event.
