Swinnerton double ends Racing Club’s losing sequence

Racing Club Warwick brought to an end a six-game losing streak last Saturday with a 2-0 Midland Combination Premier win over visitors Brocton.

Manager Curly O’Callaghan paired Luke Swinnerton up front with the returning Ed Kostiuk, but it was only when Swinnerton was returned to midfield that the goals came.

A poor clearance from the Brocton goalkeeper was calmly returned into an empty net by Swinnerton, who then doubled his, and Racing Club’s tally, with another fine strike from distance.

“But we addressed the situation at the back and we were able to cut out the silly goals.”
