Putting Trust in youth adds up to a bright future for Brakes

Leamington’s Development Squad have received a huge boost courtesy of a sponsorship deal with the Brakes Trust.

The deal, which amounts to £1,000, will see the youth team provided with training jackets for the 2012/13 campaign bearing the Trust’s logo.

The Brakes Trust will continue to work with the youth team during the season to establish further ways of backing the squad, which has already seen Josh Tiff step up to first-team level.

Darran Ward, chairman of the Leamington Development Squad, said: “The Youth team are very grateful to the Leamington Brakes Trust for their help and sponsorship.

“Our aim is to deliver players through a youth system at the club that will push for first-team squad inclusion.

“Having people like the Trust on board is a massive help in our ambitions.”

The agreement with Brakes’ youth team is the culmination of a busy few months for the Trust, who have also taken steps to boost attendance figures at the New Windmill.

And chairman Peter Davis believes recent initiatives will have a positive impact both on and off the field.

“Being involved with the youth team is an exciting prospect for the Trust,” said Davis. “We actively support the community and Leamington Football Club and now this enables us to get involved in the future of both.

He added: “To further aid this, the Trust has recently purchased a minibus to help existing and new fans to get to home games and away fixtures.”
