Edmonds’ best wins him monthly prize

A career-best bowling performance of six for 28 has won Phil Edmonds of Kenilworth Town our July Man-of-the-Month award, sponsored by Leamington personal training studio Life Fitness Solutions.

In a rain-ruined month, his inspiring contribution off 13.4 overs guided Kenilworth to a one-wicket victory over neighbours Highway in the Warwickshire League Premier Division.

Edmonds, 18, broke into the first team last year as an ad hoc fill-in after good performances in the 2nds and has cemented his place this season.

Phil’s performance wins six cricket balls for his club and a private health, fitness and nutrition check for himself, courtesy of Life Fitness Solutions at their premises in Windsor Place, Leamington.

The check assesses key health markers, such as cholesterol, glucose, body fat percentage and postural imbalances.

Throughout the season, Courier sports editor Paul Okey and a panel of judges are selecting the monthly winner from match reports submitted by local clubs.

Personal trainer Rob Coster, joint owner of Life Fitness Solutions, said: “This was an awesome display of bowling by the teenager, which made the judges’ task of choosing the Man-of-the-Month very easy.”
