Quartermaine produces a knockout blow on his international debut

The Cleary’s ABC boxer was unable to travel with the England team due to an exam, joining up late after travelling down independently with his father.

However, his less than ideal preparation did not prove detrimental as he racked up his third win in as many weeks.

Bird, who fights out of Splott Adventure ABC, looked to overwhelm Quartermaine in the early stages but quickly found ‘Kid Quartermaine’ too strong and resorted to holding, picking up a warning a minute in.

Forced to come out and fight, he was picked off by Quartermaine who produced a left hook to the body which sent Bird to the canvas and ended the fight after just 100 seconds.
