Leamington archer Naomi Folkard claimed a convincing victory in the ladies’ recurve at the Senior West Midlands Indoor Championships in Evesham last week.
Tackling the 18-metre FITA round of five dozen arrows on a small three-spot face, Folkard shot consistently well to score 582 points, which put her a considerable margin clear of Droitwich’s Becky Lashley (530pts) and Leamington’s Rachel Smith (488pts).
Leamington juniors Caitlin McCarthy and Michael McCarthy both took visitor medals in the County of Worcester Championships which were incorporated into the event.
