Your guide to Christmas services in Leamington, Warwick and Kenilworth

Churches around Warwickshire will be holding Christmas services today (Christmas Eve) and on Christmas Day

At St Mark’s church in Rugby Road, Leamington there will be a Christingle service today (Christmas Eve) at 4pm, a midnight Communion starting at 11.15pm and ‘sing a new song’ services on Christmas Day at 8.30am and 10am.

St Paul’s church in Leicester Street will hold a Christingle service on Christmas Eve at 4pm and is inviting children to bring a present to unwrap at its Holy Communion services on Christmas Day at 8.30am and 10.30am.

Dale Street Methodist church will be holding a midnight Communion service on Christmas Eve at 11.30pm, with an informal family service on Christmas Day at 10.30am.

St John the Baptist church in Tachbrook Street, Old Town, will be holding a mass with a procession and crib blessing on Christmas Eve at 9pm. On Christmas Day there will be a Low Mass at 8am and a solemn high mass with procession at 9.30am.

Children in south Leamington and Sydenham can attend a Christingle service at St Mary’s church, Leamington, today (Friday) at 4pm. The church will also be holding a Midnight Holy Communion on Christmas Eve, starting at 11.30pm and two services on Christmas Day, a celebration service at 10.30am and a shortened Holy Communion at 11.45am.

In Warwick, St Mary’s church will be holding a crib service on Christmas Eve at 4pm, before pulling out all the stops for its midnight Mass at 11.15pm, which will feature its choir of boys’ girls’ and men’s voices. There will be a family Eucharist on Christmas Day at 10am with music by Mozart and Handel.

St Nicholas church, Warwick, is inviting worshippers to dress as a person or animal from the Nativity to its a crib service and Christingle on Christmas Eve at 4pm.

There will be a midnight Communion at 11.30pm and a family Communion on Christmas Day at 10am, with children invited to bring presents.

There will be no service at St Nicholas church on New Year’s Day but there will be a combined service of Holy Communion with carols at St Mary’s at 10.30am.

In Kenilworth, St Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic church will hold morning Mass at 9.30am and a Vigil Mass at 6.30pm. There will be a carol service at St Augustine’s church from 11.40pm before Midnight Mass.

On Christmas Day, Mass will be said at St Augustine’s church at 8am and at 9.30am and 11.15am at St Francis of Assisi church.

St Nicholas church, Kenilworth, will be holding crib services at which children can come dressed as their favourite Nativity character or animal at 3.30pm and 5.30pm. There will be a similar service at St Barnabas church at 4.30pm.

Midnight Communion will begin at 11.30pm and on Christmas Day there will be a quiet and reflective Holy Communion service at 8am, an hour-long Family Communion service at 10am and a family communion service at St Barnabas church at 10.15am.

Southam St James’ church will be holding a Christmas Eve family service at 4pm and a ‘midnight’ communion at 11pm. Holy Communion will take place at 8am on Christmas Day, with a service for all ages followed by a short Communion at 10am.

At St Michael and All Angels’ church, Ufton, the Christmas Eve ‘midnight’ Communion will start at 10.30pm. and there will be a Holy communion Service on Christmas Day at 10am.

On New Year’s Day, morning worship at St James’ church, Southam, will take place at 10am, with Evensong at 6.30pm.

Southam Congregational church in Wood St will be holding a Nativity service for people of all ages on Christmas Eve at 4.30pm and a Christmas Day service at 10am.
