Would-be robber strikes in broad daylight in Leamington park

A THIEF punched a man in the face as he tried to steal his bag in a Leamington park yesterday (Monday April 30).

The victim was walking in an alleyway through Jephson Gardens towards Newbold Terrace at around 3.45pm when the criminal grabbed the rucksack he was carrying and said “Give me the bag”.

When the man turned around the thief punched him once to the face.

The man managed to push the thief away, releasing his grip on the bag, and he ran off towards Newbold Terrace. Nothing was stolen.

The robber is described as tall, bald, Afro-Caribbean man, wearing a blue and white striped top and blue jeans.
