Woman attacked near Leamington leisure centre

Police are patrolling the path leading up to Newbold Comyn Leisure Centre in Leamington after a woman was attacked by a man there on Saturday morning.

The 24-year-old woman was walking along Newbold Terrace East at about 6.30am when a man grabbed her from behind. She managed to break free and the man ran off.

The woman was not injured, but was shaken by the incident.

The attacker is described as a white man in his late 20s or early 30s, about 5ft 8ins tall and of muscular build. He was wearing a dark coloured sweatshirt and trousers, a bobble hat and had a scarf across his face.

Local officers are conducting reasuurance patrols in the area and would like to hear from anyone who has information about this incident or has seen anyone behaving suspiciously in the area at any other time.
