Witnesses sought after two attacks at Leamington nightclub

Both attacks occured at Smack in Tavistock Street on Sunday at around 1am.

Two men, aged 19 and 26, were were punched to the floor next to each other at almost the same time. One of them suffered a fractured eye and had to be taken to hospital.

Two men, aged 19 and 20, were arrested in connection with the assaults and both have been released on bail.

Det Con Sean Tonelli said: “The nightclub was busy at the time and the assaults took place in the tunnel area upstairs. One of the victims will have to return to hospital for further examination.

“Two people being attacked simultaneously will undoubtedly have attracted some attention. I need anyone who saw what happened and can help build a picture of the events that night to come forward and tell police what they saw.”
