West Midlands Ambulance Service staff thanked by chief executive after ‘ten of the 20 busiest days’
On Boxing Day demand was up by 14.1 per cent compared to 2013 with call numbers reaching 3,273 compared to 2,869.
on Saturday - the service’s sixth busiest day - demand was up by 15.4 per cent with 3,551 calls compared to 3.043.

Hide AdThis day also marked a 34 rise year on year in Coventry and Warwickshire
On Sunday demand was up by 10.6 per cent with 3,145 calls compared to 2,976.
Anthony Marsh, the trust’s chief executive, said: “Firstly, I would like to thank my staff for the astonishing effort they’ve put in, not only over the last few days but over the last few weeks. No fewer than ten of the 20 busiest days we’ve ever had have come in December 2014.”
