WAYC racers are all ready for challenge of Two Castles Run

Youth workers and young people will be running the Two Castles 10k Run next weekend to raise funds for the SAFE youth club in Leamington.

The club,at the Westbury Community Centre in Brunswick and run by Warwickshire Association of Youth Clubs (WAYC), supports more than 400 young people and needs cash to ensure it can continue to do so in the future.

Community fundraiser David Skoppek said: “We’ve had people run the Two Castles for us before but this is the first time WAYC has entered a team.”

“We’re glad to do our part in ensuring the club can stay open for future generations to enjoy”

WAYC staff and young people will be taking part in several other fundraising activites and events in the coming months.

On June 20 fundraisers will abseil down the tallest man-made abseiling tower in the county.

On August 31 people can get sponsored for tandem parachute jump.

And on September 5 WAYC will have a team in the Wolf Run.

Warwickshire Association of Youth Clubs is now in its 61st year.

It aims to inspire young people by improving the quality of their lives with the provision of imaginative, inspirational and quality youth programmes.

Based in Leamington, WAYC also supports more than 140 youth clubs across Coventry, Warwickshire and Solihull.

In addition WAYC also develops and delivers training programmes to improve the quality of services for young people along with capacity building and resources for the youth sector.
