Wartime vehicles at town’s poppy party
A FIRST World War field hospital will be recreated in Whitnash tomorrow (Saturday) as part of celebrations of the Royal British Legion’s 90th anniversary.
The town’s Great Poppy Party will include military vehicles, historical displays and a treasure hunt leading people around wartime Whitnash.
The Help for Heroes tank and a 1914 field ambulance will be visiting the Lawns in Gleave Road, where Ritz-style refreshments will be available, while a Naafi-style canteen will serve soldiers’ tea at Whitnash Sports and Social Club. Call 07855 372323.
