Waiting list for Warwick scouts
Assistant scout leader Neil Pitchford said the current headquarters in the park was almost 50 years old and failed to meet modern standards.
As a consequence the 200-strong membership has had to be restricted and the 2nd Sea Scouts has had an extremely long waiting list for many years.

Hide AdThe current base, near Charter Bridge, also hosts the district Scout Network for 18 to 25 year-olds.
When the present boatyard is moved from nearby Myton Fields it will mean the outdated headquarters can be demolished and used for storage.
There were objections by nearby residents to a boatyard, which will be surrounded by security fencing, and potential parking problems with parents dropping children off.
