Vomiting bug outbreak still stopping visits at Warwick Hospital

VISITING is still restricted at Warwick Hospital and the Nicol unit at Stratford Hospital after an outbreak of ‘winter vomiting’ bug Norovirus.

The hospital announced on Monday that the outbreak, which began last week, had spread and there would be no visiting at the Lakin Road site until further notice to help staff contain the virus.

Exceptions can be made on compassionate grounds where the patient is seriously ill and patients should telephone the ward manager before visiting to discuss this.

But this excludes our maternity department, special care baby unit, intensive therapy unit and MacGregor children’s ward.

The hospital says patients should still attend appointments unless they are notified otherwise.

An update is expected on Monday (October 22) at 1pm.
