Vaisakhi celebrations come to Leamington
Dancers and storytellers brought the festival of Vaisakhi to life at the town centre building, with a free programme of live Indian performances and arts activities exploring the history of the occasion.
Vaisakhi is a harvest festival celebrated in northern India and also marks the start of the Sikh new year and commemorates the year Sikhism was established as a collective faith.

Hide AdAs well as enjoying Bollywood and Bhangra dancing, visitors to the Pump Room were able to listen to stories related to the festival and help to create a large textile artwork depicting the Sikh cultural heritage.
