Update: Police appeal for witnesses after man pulled from canal in Long Itchington

The incident took place just outside the Two Boats Inn off Southam Road on Wednesday at about 9.15pm.

The rescued man was treated at the scene by paramedics then transferred by ambulance to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire for further treatment.

His condition is currently described as serious.

The circumstances of the incident are currently unknown but are not being treated as suspicious.

Police are appealing for the person who helped pull the man out of the canal to come forward.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has information that could assist with enquiries is urged to call 101, quoting incident 380 of 11 November 2015.
