Trolleys filled up with generosity

IT was more than three bags full when Leamington’s Salvation Army appealed for donations of food for the homeless.

When stores ran low for the Salvation Army’s Way Ahead project, which provides vulnerable people with a monthly food parcel, volunteers approached Sainsbury’s in Leamington Shopping Park.

Together they launched a food donation appeal that filled four trolleys by the end of one day.

Jonathan Chilvers, of the Salvation Army, said: “I’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who donated and to Sainsbury’s. The Way Ahead Project is all about supporting people to turn their lives around and they can’t do that on an empty stomach!”
