Three fire incidents in Leamington area over weekend

Three fires were quickly dealt with in the Leamington area over the weekend.

On Saturday, Warwickshire Fire Control received a 999 call to a fire at a premise in Bericote Lane, Blackdown, at about 1.13pm.

The fire was located in the flue of a wood burner in the kitchen of a two storey farmhouse.

Firefighters were on the scene for 40 minutes.

Several calls were made to the control room in the early hours of yesterday (Sunday) morning to report a car on fire on a driveway at a house in Palmer Road, Whitnash.

Two fire engines attended the address and Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel and a Thermal Image Camera to put the fire out.

They were at the address for half an hour and the police were informed

At about 7.20pm two fire engines, one from Southam and one from Leamington attended an incident at a workshop near to the Long Itchington diner on the Southam Road.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the workshop and extinguished the fire using a hose reel jet.
