Teenager cut from car following collision

A teenage driver was cut from his car and rushed to hospital with fractured ribs after a collision with a lorry near Leek Wootton.

Ambulance paramedics, fire crews and the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance and were called to the junction of the B4115 and Leamington Road around 2.20pm on Tuesday September 23.

They found the man in his late teens had suffered abdominal, pelvic and leg and back injuries as well as fractured ribs.

He was cut from his car and taken by ambulance to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire.

The driver of the lorry was uninjured in the collision.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “He was freed from his car after the fire service had cut off its door.

“He was given pain relief, a pelvic splint was applied and he was immobilised with the use of a spinal board and neck collar.”
