Stagecoach steps in to keep bus services

FOLLOWING the recent reaction to Warwick County Council plans to cut evening bus services Stagecoach have announced that they will keep some services.

Last month the council revealed plans to completely stop the majority of evening bus services in the area from July 4, most notably the G1, 68, and 18A which serve Leamington and Warwick.

However, Stagecoach has responded by stating its intention to provide some evening services on Fridays and Saturdays - initially for a six month trial.

County cllr Martyn Ashford serves Warwick North which the G1 serves and said: “Stagecoach’s decision to continue to operate some evening services on the G1 route will be welcomed by residents.

“This is a popular service and by retaining the evening services they will be able to continue to travel with ease between Leamington and Warwick.”

The G1 will remain unchanged on Fridays and Saturdays, and will be reduced to every 90 minutes on weekdays. The 18A, 67 and 64 services will now only run on Friday and Saturday evenings.
