Spooky launch for Streets Ahead services

A CHARITY which helps young people and adults with learning disabilities has celebrate the launch of its new day services by holding a spooky Halloween party.

Way Ahead Support Services has developed a timetable of innovative, structured and purposeful activities which combine learning and achievement with excursions and inspiration.

Operating under the name Streets Ahead Warwickshire, the sessions will run from Monday to Friday and offer a modern alternative to day centres.

The charity currently runs a full day at the Gap Community Centre in Oakwood Grove, Warwick, which include arts and craft projects in the morning and team games in the afternoon.

Volunteers also work at the centre’s community allotment.

A photography group also meets in Leamington on Wednesday mornings and country dancing and sports-ability sessions take place at the Woodloes Community Centre on Fridays.

Plans for more activities and events include football and athletics, computing, work and life skills and needlework.
