It is thought there was a record crowd for the carols despite the rain that had fallen in the afternoon potentially putting off people from attending.

Music was provided by the Salvation Army band and school choirs from primary schools in the area.

John Whitehouse, a member of Kenilworth Lions, said: “It was a really good night and the feedback we received was excellent.

“It was difficult to count attendance exactly but we were getting towards a crowd of 1,000, which would be a record for us.”
