Schools show plenty of razzmatazz

NERVES and excitement were experienced by pupils at two schools this week as they prepared to put on sparkling productions.

Youngsters in years 3,4,5 and 6 at St James Primary School in Southam have been rehearsing The Return of the Glass Slipper ready to perform the new version of the Cinderella fairytale to large audiences next week.

The traditional pantomime tells how a poor girl, bullied by her step mother and twin stepsisters finds happiness with the prince of her dreams.

Meanwhile girls at The Kingsley School in Leamington were among the first in the Midlands to perform the full school version of the hit musical Hairspray.

They have been selected to perform two of the show’s songs at the first ever Amateur Stage EXPO, at the Business Design Centre in London tomorrow (Saturday).
