The scheme is available to first-time buyers who are moving onto the property ladder – or those who want to move up the ladder – to a maximum value of £600,000.

Purchasers who qualify for the scheme only require a five per cent deposit and are given a 20 per cent equity loan by the Government, which is interest free for the first five years.

Jo Gair, Connells’ Southam branch manager, said: “‘Help to Buy’ is a tremendous scheme and it is probably the best incentive ever to be offered to the new homes market.

“It has been instrumental in boosting buyer confidence as well as giving prospective home owners the ability to buy the home of their dreams within their budget.

“With property prices still rising, moving onto or moving up the property ladder could be a very astute financial decision.

“Continued low interest rates and reduced stamp duty payments make buying a new home a very attractive proposition.

“Indeed, recent research by Halifax suggests those who buy homes are £742, or nine per cent-a-year better off on average compared to those who rent.”

Connells has an excellent choice of new homes offered with the ‘Help to Buy’ scheme – everything from studio apartments to five bedroom luxury detached homes:

Jo added: “I would urge anyone who has been thinking of purchasing a property to contact their local Connells branch to determine if you qualify for ‘Help to Buy’ and see what new homes are available for you to view.”
