Santa brings extra presents for lucky parents

THERE was an extra Christmas present in store for some lucky families at Warwick Hospital this year.

In total seven babies were born in the area on Christmas Day, including Spencer Ison Duffy who entered the world at 11.15pm after making new parents Vicky and Ray, from Leamington, endure a long wait.

Mr Duffy said: “He was two weeks late and Vicky was induced on Christmas Eve. After more than 20 hours she had an emergency Caesarean section and we have a very happy, healthy baby.

“We didn’t really want to have a Christmas baby, but it’s the most fantastic present we could ever want. He’s also a honeymoon baby because we married in March.”

Also born was Amelia McEwan at 10.15pm to parents Eleanor and Iain from Kineton.

Proud grandmother Florence Griffin said: “She was due on New Year’s Day. They are delighted to have a Christmas Day baby - Amelia is healthy and beautiful.”
