Organisers are now calling on keen groups and individuals to sign up and get involved in what they said should be a “fantastic day” to celebrate all things in women’s cycling.

The event is organised in partnership with Cancer research UK, with riders encouraged to pull in sponsorship for the day.

A statement read: “British Cycling’s Breeze is the biggest programme to get more women into riding bikes for fun.

“Our aim is to help thousands of women feel confident about going on a bike ride, and have lots of fun along the way.

“Join the celebration and enjoy an unforgettable opportunity to take cycling further.”
