Rugby Borough Councillor appears in court over allegedly offensive tweet

Cllr Jim Buckley, who represents Hillmorton, appeared at Warwickshire Magistrates Court today (Wednesday, February 24).

He pleaded not guilty to the charge of publishing material of an indecent and grossly offensive nature.

Cllr Buckley allegedly published a tweet in relation to London Mayoral candidate and MP, Sadiq Khan - who was born into a British-Pakistani family. The case has been sent to trial on March 11 at Leamington Spa Magistrates Court at 2pm.
