Recreating an epic journey 60 years on

A group of bikers on 1950s Triumph Terrier and Tiger Club motorcycles turned up in Leamington last week to recreate a famous moment 60 years ago.

Edward Turner, the MD of Triumph motorcycles, took part in an epic End to End trip in 1953, when he rode from Lands End to John O’Groats to prove his bikes’ capabilities . He stopped at the Regent Hotel in Leamington - as did his modern day counterparts on October 7, exactly 60 years to the day.
