Kenilworth and Southam MP Jeremy Wright has been removed from his role as culture secretary with Prime Minister Boris Johnson announcing a new cabinet.

He has been replaced in the role, which he had for about a year, by Loughborough MP Nicky Morgan.

Mr WQright said: "It has been a privilege to sit around the Cabinet table for five years and to serve in Government for the last nine years.

"I wish the new Prime Minister and his administration the best of luck."

Mr Johnson announced the Cabinet clearout just hours after becoming Prime Minister.

On Tuesday, Mr Wright spoke in praise of outgoing Prime Minister Theresa May.
