Police raid Leamington flat: updated

Officers used a Land Rover equipped with a platform to enter through a window of the flat above the Munch Crunch takeaway in High Street at around 2.30pm.

Three men were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to Supply class A drugs.

A large quantity of what is thought to be controlled drugs was also seized from the property.

Another three men were later arrested.

Of the six men arrested, two are from Warwick aged 32 and 23, two were from Leamington Spa aged 32 and 28, one was from Rugby aged 31 and one was from Kenilworth, aged 23.

All six have been bailed until November 13, pending further enquiries.

Detective Constable Steve Mobbs said, “This is a great result from an large ongoing investigation. Six arrests have been made and a large amount of what is thought to be Class A drugs have been seized from the property.

“We are dedicated to tackling any reports of supplying drugs and hope this sends a clear message to the local area that incidents like these will not be tolerated.”

Witnesses reported seeing non-lethal ‘flashbang’ type grenades being used in the raid.

Prior to the operation the officers had been waiting in preparation behind the Leamington Courier office.
