Police investigate assault outside pizza shop

The incident happened at the junction of High Street and Bath Street on Friday September 27 at about 4am.

The victim was attacked by a man, who is described as black and of a medium build.

As a result the victim suffered minor injuries and was checked over by ambulance paramedics as a precaution.

It is believed the assault was unprovoked and officers are appealing for witnesses.

In particular they are keen to trace a group of young women who were nearby when the assault occurred and may have witnessed it.
