Police chief recognises good work of residents

HELPING the police has earned individuals across Warwickshire special accolades that were presented to them at an awards ceremony in Kenilworth on Wednesday.

Warwickshire Chief Constable Andy Parker paid tribute to people whose actions have helped the force during the past year at the event at the Hilton Hotel.

Among these was his Good Citizen Award, which went to Stephen Meddoms of Leamington, who in May prevented a woman from committing suicide. The woman was threatening to jump from a railway bridge in Leamington but Mr Meddoms was able to restrain her until police arrived.
