Police bring in two new assistant chief constables

WARWICKSHIRE Police has welcomed two new assistant chief constables to the force.

Gareth Morgan and Karen Manners will help lead both Warwickshire and West Mercia constabularies, which formed an alliance last month.

Mr Morgan joins the force from the Association of Chief Police Officers, where he was chief of staff to the president, Sir Hugh Orde. He has also worked for West Midlands Police.

He said: “I’m delighted to be joining the alliance’s chief officer team at this most interesting of times and taking on the exciting challenge of being an assistant chief constable for two police forces.

Sheila Blagg, chairman of West Mercia police authority, said: “This a big job and Gareth has the experience and personal qualities we need to make sure our communities experience lower levels of crime, stay safe and feel safe.

“He is an excellent addition to our chief officer teams.”

Mr Morgan takes responsibility for local policing for the alliance, while Ms Manners is responsible for protective services.
