The annual event celebrated its 40th anniversary last year, but this year’s festival has been postponed until 2021.

The board of unsalaried but legally designated directors is now looking for new recruits, including a financial director, to oversee the festival’s management team.

In addition, next year’s retirement of founding festival director, Dick Dixon means that the team will also be recruiting a new artistic manager and a festival operations manager.

Warwick Folk Festival is a volunteer-run organisation that seeks to promote, celebrate and present great folk music and dance in Warwick for a local and national audience.

Next year’s festival will take place from July 22 to July 25 and faces big changes as it takes over a new site close to the grounds of Warwick Castle.

Dick Dixon has played a major role in the festival’s success from the very beginning when he organised the bar for its first-ever folk-dance event.

It has since grown into a packed programme with main site concerts, ceilidhs, music and dance workshops, and a wide range of children’s entertainments plus a festival fringe of open-air concerts, sing-arounds, music and pub sessions in venues throughout Warwick’s town centre.

Mandy Sutton, festival director, said: "Although board members freely offer their time and expertise, they have cemented Warwick Folk Festival’s reputation for great folk entertainment that meets the highest professional standards.

"As part of the board team, you will be able to use your skills and experience to guide the festival management team, with a clear strategy and valuable support.

"We are very proud of the Festival’s achievements in presenting a diverse, community-led programme of folk music and folk arts while encouraging local acts and young artists to perform alongside the big names’.
