Primary school children in Southam receive recycled laptops thanks to website and app design and development company based in town

Children in Southam who would not normally have access to a computer at home are being provided with refurbished and upgraded laptops thanks to website and app design and development company XRF Digital with the help of other businesses in the town.

XRF staff member Nick Taylor, who has taken responsibility for the repairs, said: “My goal is to get as many repaired as possible for the kids so they could still have access to learning tools during this difficult time. It has been a job that I have taken great pride in, it has certainly brought great satisfaction to my job these past few weeks.”

XRF managing director Dave Riches added: “We build and design websites and apps, so no one understands the importance of good working IT equipment than we do as a company.

"As a father I understand the pressure parents are under home-schooling their children, financially many families are struggling so being able to afford a laptop for their child is incredibly difficult. Refurbishing donated laptops is a win-win for everyone”

XRF digital was further assisted by Major Carney from the Dallas Burston Polo Club, who on hearing what XRF was undertaking offered to donate money towards any parts needed.
