A Kenilworth photographer had been capturing one of the town's iconic landmarks as part of a lockdown project.

Will Johnston, who is an award-winning photographer, has used lockdowns to take on projects to help keep busy and this time he has dedicated his time to photographing Kenilworth Castle.

"A lot of what I do is events however which Covid has quite seriously affected this so I've had to adapt and one of the things I've loved doing in the last six months is trying new things to keep me busy.

"I raised over £2,300 for the NHS taking images of families at their doorsteps during lockdowns and during this current lockdown I needed another project so began taking images of Kenilworth Castle.

"I love the castle. We’ve lived in Kenilworth for 10 years, we love the place, we got engaged at the top of a hill where you can see it, and it looks different every day.

"We’re so lucky to have it on our doorstep and I take pictures of it regularly so thought it could make a great photo project so I simply take a shot every day.

"I try to make each image different so tend to head to a different location at a different time and see what I can get."

Will started his Kenilworth Castle project on January 5 and he says he has been touched by how well the photos have been received by the community.

He said: "The people of Kenilworth have really got behind the project and it’s generated a lot of interest on social media, particularly a Facebook group called Kenilworth Vibes where I get hundreds of likes and comments for each picture.

"These comments mean a lot, especially after such a rough year for my business so I’m very grateful to everyone who has looked at the images.

Also, I need to think my amazing wife Nicky, kids Barney and Annie and our dog Tony who I drag to the same old castle every day."
