How you can 'shine a light' on your sporting heroes from the Warwick District

Warwick District Council is on the look-out for some members of the sporting community to become part of a billboard campaign for the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.

The ‘hometown heroes’ campaign aims to shine a light on people from the West Midlands region who have dedicated their lives to grassroots sport.

The council is hoping that representatives from the district, will be amongst the faces chosen.

Cllr Moira-Ann Grainger, Warwick District Council’s portfolio holder for culture said: "We know that there are many people in our local community who deserve to be recognised for their contribution to sport.

"This could be an inspiring coach, dedicated volunteer, courageous player or die-hard supporter, or anyone who’s had a real impact on a local sports club, team or facility.”

Entries close on Friday November 6.

The winning nominees will be chosen to feature on billboard adverts across the region in 2021, as the countdown to the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games begins.
