Here are the winners of the Warwick VE Day competitions

Residents and businesses were encouraged to get involved while abiding by lockdown rules

The winners of the Warwick VE Day competitions have been announced.

At the end of April, Warwick Mayor Cllr Neale Murphy launched VE Day competitions for residents.

There were three categories; best window display, best front garden and best shop window display.

Residents and businesses were encouraged to get involved in the competitions while abiding by the lockdown restrictions.

On VE Day (Friday May 8) the mayor judged all the entries and picked one overall winner for each category - each winner will receive a food hamper.

The category winners are:

Best Window Display - Claire and John Houghton, Dennett Close

Neale Murphy, Mayor of Warwick said: "I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere appreciation to everyone who celebrated VE Day.

"The community spirit during this difficult time is incredible, something we should all be very proud of.

"The number of people who registered and entered was amazing.

"I thoroughly enjoyed viewing all the displays and hearing the personal stories behind everyone’s VE Day celebrations."
