Council to 'check in' on residents identified as extremely vulnerable

Residents of Warwick district that have been identified as extremely vulnerable and need to shield but haven’t yet registered on the government website will be receiving contact from the council in the coming week to carry out welfare checks.

Officers from Warwick District Council will be checking in on those identified as extremely vulnerable to see if any assistance is required.

Cllr Judy Falp, portfolio holder for health and community protection, said: “We want to reassure people that these aren’t bogus calls and that help is available to them if they need it; we won’t ask you for any personal details.

"If anyone receives a call and is unsure, they can hang up and re-dial our dedicated number – 01926 456111 (Mon-Fri 9am to 5pm) – to check the validity of the person calling.”
