The group has said: "We are delighted to announce that Friends of Abbey Fields will be producing another calendar for 2021.

"After much deliberation, because of the complications created by the devastating Coronavirus, we decided to approach previous sponsors and other interested parties to obtain their thoughts on whether there was a demand and we were delighted by the encouragement, enthusiasm and support for another calendar.

"Our sponsors Kenilworth Books stated 'so many local residents in Kenilworth look forward to the calendar'.

"They suggested it is one of those events which sits alongside Bonfire Night or the Duck Race. Wow – fine praise indeed.

"It was felt we would all welcome some uplifting photographs of Abbey Fields particularly given its importance as a haven for visitors during the lockdown here in Kenilworth.

"We began the process earlier in the year inviting all photographers to send in their best photos of Abbey Fields and we received a tremendous response. We have such photographic talent here in Kenilworth.

"David Emsley, our Webmaster, has developed software that will allow online judging and the final selection of the final 14 photographs will be made by Richard Dickson our Town Mayor.

"Coincidentally it was Kate Dickson who was Mayor in 2017 who judged the competition for our last calendar in 2018."

The group hopes to have the calendars on sale by September but will also be making them available to buy online.
