Thanks for your hard work

The photograph of the opening of the work on the Cubbington flood alleviation scheme highlighted a milestone in the work to protect residents from flooding and moves the scheme away from a table top scheme to action on the ground.

I would like to congratulate all concerned that took this project from an idea and got it to this point through hard work by a committee of councillors, residents and council officers that have achieved a great outcome.

It is also important to thank two people not in the photograph, Mr Roger Jewsbury, the engineer, for his expert knowledge, who outlined the ways to achieve the best outcome, and the person that obtained the money from numerous sources. Without the money, the scheme would not have progressed. I have not identified this person because they may not wish the publicity.

Well done to these two gentlemen and all that stringently worked on the scheme to protect residents of Cubbington.
