Pub should be commended

I don’t know Mr Drake but feel he should be commended for the work that he did on the Queen Victoria pub in the High Street. It looks very bright and this area of the is just what is needed. I also have no objections to the flags celebrating the Jubilee and the Queen’s birthday.

It is a pity that the council does not spend more time looking at other areas of the south town and get something done about other businesses, for example the pub in Clemens Street that has been closed for years. Also the two shops in Bath Street, that have also been boarded up for years. One has birds flying in and out of it. I cannot think what is behind the boarding.

I feel that the council should look into these matters and leave Mr. Drake alone. - Michael Costello, Whitnash.
