Is Ron a Conservative at heart?

Ron Ball must think that readers of this newspaper are easily fooled (Courier August 31). This man, who would wish us to elect him to run the police and crime services in the county, suggests that his strong belief in independence has pushed him to stand as if he is our saviour. He does not persuade me that he is the best pilot for this enterprise. How can he expect people to believe in his credibility?

It is clear from his statements to date that if the Conservative party had selected him as their candidate and provided his £5,000 deposit the question of being independent would not have featured in his thinking. Most members of the public know that belonging to a political party is an indication of a person’s core beliefs and principles which does not prevent a person from acting independently. - Name and address supplied.
