Help others by volunteering
I am a member of the WRVS. Yes, it is possible for a man to be a member. Up to 18 months ago I was helping to deliver Meals on Wheels to the Kenilworth area, but due to the decision of the county council to award this task to a company based in Nottingham, I am now helping to serve fish and chip lunches on Friday to the residents of Tannery Court in Kenilworth.
This gives the residents an opportunity to get together for a chinwag and a hot meal and is a satisfying task for me about twice a month as part of a team of five. I thought I would take this opportunity to bring to you this aspect of the WRVS and to appeal for one or two more volunteers to join us. We have found it a bit of a struggle recently because of the holiday season and would welcome further volunteers to ease the pressure.
