Delighted by the turn-out
IWA were delighted in the fantastic number of volunteers, over 80 in total, who along with IWA members collected so much rubbish. People along the towpath were astounded at the volume of debris as the heavily laden boat travelled back to base.
In addition to the individual local residents thanks go to the Royal Leamington Army Cadets, volunteers from Warwick University student groups, and Judith Christopherson and her Warwick youth group.

Hide AdA special mention for Steve Lambert, the Canal and River Trust volunteer coordinator, who did so much to prepare the equipment for the day, managed the event, and then steered the boat so admirably when his vision was limited by the height of the rubbish.
Thanks again to all who worked so hard and cheerfully despite getting so dirty. IWA look forward to your support on the next clean up in the autumn.
