Crossing scheme is not safe for me

I would like to express my very serious concerns about the new road crossing scheme in Warwick. As a visually impaired person I have great difficulty crossing main roads at the best of times, relying essentially on my listening skills for assessment of traffic direction and speed of moving vehciles to know when to cross the road.

This new system relies essentially on eye contact between driver and pedestrian for acknowledgement to judge the right time to cross.

Also as there is now no demarcation between the pavement and carrageway I can no longer assess where the road begins and finishes.

As a Warwickshire resident I would like to state this has a great inpact on my independence and free movement around the town centre.

Therefore, I would ask that consideration should be given to myself and others by the re-introduction of some form of control point for crossing the road. - Beverley Muldoon, via email.
